Not much heavier than plastic fenders and a LOT more solid. Wald is now including Nyloc nuts which makes the installation much more secure. I wish Amazon sold the Wald balloon fenders too. I purchased these fenders to install on an older, rigid mountain bike. The fenders themselves are nice quality and lighter than I expected. The stays are basic Wald - bulky supports similar to those used on their baskets vs the round stays used on many fenders. No instructions are included and several modifications were required to install (fender stays had to be trimmed in order to mount to the eyelets on my bike and new mounting holes had to be drilled in the rear fender).The set includes enough hardware to assemble the fenders but doesn't come with nuts, bolts, and washers required to attach them to the bike. If you don't have extra hardware around, expect at least one trip to the hardware store. I had previously installed a set of SKS fenders on another bike, which came with enough hardware for several different installation configurations so I was a bit spoiled by that experience.If you're looking for good, basic, inexpensive fenders these are hard to beat if you don't mind the work to install them. If you want fenders that go on easily without modifications or requiring extra hardware, I'd recommend looking at a set from SKS. Good quality fenders. Really nice chrome.
